So maybe it's not Everest, but it's close! For a few months now, our team has put in hard rides and worked on their skills, all in an effort to be better mountain bike riders. Sometimes the improvement isn't always obvious. It can sneek up on you.
For the past few weeks, we have ventured up Brown Mountain with the goal of reaching the Brown Mountain saddle. A few riders have made it, but others have not had the same success. Well, yesterday the hard work all came together for the 9 riders that headed up that hill. After about 50 minutes, and 1400 feet of climbing, all 9 riders had made it to the saddle! Wow! What an accomplishment!
I told the riders on top of the mountain that the saddle is a milestone. I know that they will all ride past here someday, on their way further up the mountain on bigger and longer rides. But milestones are important. Goals are important. They teach us that with hard work, anything is possible.
I'm very proud of all 15 club members. Your hard work is an inspiration to me.
